I'm picking my battles though, and while I want to wean her, I want even more to have her sleep in her crib. Even if just for the daytime naps.
We're working on it. I have to go...
The doctor said Alyssa's virus probably resulted from her MMR vaccine. Her fever finally broke the night before last, but she's been cold and clammy ever since and so, I haven't yet relaxed.
It's weird to me that my baby that is otherwise a very hot little person (really, she's like a furnace), has a temperature of 96.5. She's so cold...She has been eating and drinking well, and other than being understandably irritable, she's been in a good mood. We're going to call tomorrow to follow up with the pediatrician.
Since I have been so sick and busy tending to the sick and to the house, I have neglected my studying. Today, we'll be back to where I was before. That is to say, that anytime Alyssa naps, or we're in the car, or my parents have Aly, I'll be studying. Yay.
I have been supremely annoyed lately. I'm trying to rally, but I'm just so annoyed...Ugh.
I'm just going to watch things go down in flames for the last time, and see what happens next. I refuse to have to be the only responsible party.

Alyssa turned 1:
We were sick on Thanksgiving. She was still in a good mood, playing.
Her two top teeth are poking through. Finally! She got her two bottom teeth, and then no more for months!!
The day after Thanksgiving. Still feverish, feeling sick. Heading out to buy cough drops and such.
Trying to talk the cat into playing...
Her fever broke, but I still spent a sleepless night because of how clammy she was. I stayed up watching her; making sure she was breathing alright. I slept from 6am to 11am. Can you read the weariness on my ungroomed face?
Grandma makes her happy.
Uncle Michael loves Alyssa, too.
She is lucky in love.
Ophelia wants to read, too.
This morning, baby signing time.
Okay, going to groom myself because I haven't in days, and then to study since Michael took Aly for a couple of hours.
Both baby and hubby not doing well. Fevers!! I feel for them...
Finally relaxing in bed after another night of stuffing my face. I'll get back to eating well, tomorrow. I swear!

I'm curled up in bed, full of gluten-free chocolate chip pancakes, watching Pride and Prejudice with my Alyssa asleep beside me. What a wonderful life.

My new neighbors are so annoying. I think they're college-aged kids whose parents bought or rented them a place here. So much yelling comes from over there between drama and parties. We live on top of each other here, so it sounds like they are right outside our window.
I forgot how inane beer-fueled conversations can be...

My new neighbors are so annoying. I think they're college-aged kids whose parents bought or rented them a place here. So much yelling comes from over there between drama and parties. We live on top of each other here, so it sounds like they are right outside our window.

I've been reading all of my friends' updates from my phone, but it is kind of a pain to comment from it, so I just tried to catch up while Mike has the baby. Okay, I have to get going. Have to get myself and the baby ready and packed for a day out of the house.

A Must:
I read this book to Alyssa every week at least once. (I'd read it more, but she's not yet 9 months old, and seeing as how it's not too colorful or chew-able as her board books are, she doesn't care to read it more often than that.) I must say though, that I think it's messed up how mean Max is to the Wild Things when he's king. Like he treats them the way he's been treated even though he didn't like it, himself. What the heck is that about?? Alyssa and I usually discuss this upon finishing the book...and then she'll end the discussion with a toot or a giggle. I love her.
Another must: I love Michael Cera...every time I see him I just want to squeeze him...
This looks like a cute movie. One that'll put a smile on my face.
And finally, I've been on a Beirut kick again lately. I really really enjoy Zach Codon and his musical stylings:
Today, watching Alyssa at play, seeing her look up at me and laugh a nice hearty laugh just because I was hacking a bit, then leaning back to give me a kiss, I thought how nice it will be to play with her in more elaborate scenes as she gets older. Hopefully it'll be as nice as I'm thinking it'll be. It'll be nice for me as long as she enjoys hanging out with me.
I have plans for building a time machine with her...we'll be time traveling cool kids. Yeah...
